VIDEO: Lights, Camera, Advice: Assembly With Alumnus Aaron Albano
January 21, 2015
Broadway performer and Lincoln alumnus, Aaron Albano, visited Lincoln High School on Tuesday, Jan. 13. As a member of the Class of 2001, Albano was active in the Lincoln Community, particularly in the Performing Arts Department. During his time at Lincoln, Albano participated in the Lincoln Convertibles, Concert Choir, Chamber Chorale, the musical theater program. Upon graduating from Lincoln he attended the College Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio, and eventually made his way to Broadway, where he performed in Bombay Dreams, Wicked, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, A Chorus Line, Mary Poppins and Newsies.
During his visit, he discussed his career and experiences in New York and answered any questions posed by Lincoln’s aspiring Broadway performers. Some of the topics addressed included casting, auditions, competition among performers, and the challenges of performing for a living.
Although he is a prolific Lincoln graduate, Albano is only one of many Lincoln alumni who have performed on a Broadway stage, as Lincoln’s exceptional performing arts program encourages and prepares students to use their talents beyond high school.
