Knock on Wood: AP Exams Are Approaching
Lincoln students may be busy with thoughts of prom, graduation, and all of their thrilling summer experiences to come, but Advanced Placement (AP) testing is right around the corner.
There were 18 AP courses provided at Lincoln this year and over 500 students enrolled in the program. Due to the large population of AP students, it was not very difficult to find students who were willing to share their AP experiences.
Junior Alexis Najar was very quick to say, “AP testing is worth it; you don’t lose anything if you fail. It’s a win, win situation.”
Although there is no penalty for failing, the perks of passing are substantially high. The college credit given when a 3 or higher is received on an AP test can usually get students out of two college classes at any public institution and therefore save them up to 2500 dollars. Why not work hard to pass that exam?
Many students, such as junior Arys Montoya, are studying their hearts out. “I’ve been carrying around review books with me for the last month,” she stated. “Plus, I’ve been going to weekend review sessions with teachers,” she added.
Many of Lincoln’s teachers are putting in time this Saturday for one last review session before the official commencement of AP exams on May 4th. Make sure to ask your teachers for more information regarding any review sessions before it’s too late.
