This week’s lucky K-9 for pet of the week is Nubi, a Switzerland white shepherd, a family member of Juan Alcala. Four years ago, she was born as “the dog of love,” being born on Valentines day. Juan’s grandparents owned Nubi’s parents, but kept Nubi and sold the rest of the puppies because Nubi was the only one with a tail. Juan mentioned a time when she was chasing cows around and lay beside the cow. Another fun fact is that she tends to go through people’s wallets, and doesn’t even use the money for anything besides a chew toy.

She also enjoys wearing glasses, pictured, and gets jealous if you are giving someone a hug that doesn’t involve her. So she would go up to you, and scratch you until you give her your full attention she hungers. She is very playful and loves everyone, on days where someone in Juan’s house is sick, she snuggles up to the sick person and comforts them as much as possible.

Juan says she is, quite simply, “a sweet heart.”​
