Even though prom is 3 months away it’s definitely time to start thinking about a budget. Try to save every dollar or cent you can this year. Prom is by far one of the most expensive events to attend.  Planning ahead and putting together a game plan will create a smooth prom experience. Lion Tales estimated how much girls or boys would spend at prom this year. Below is a chart of what we thought prom 2016 will cost you. To make sure you have at least $500 by prom day (May 14th) girls you will need to save $50 a week and boys you will need to save $42 for the next 10 weeks. These estimates are based off of one of Lion Tales members that attend prom last year.

Girls

Dress $230 or higher
Shoes $60
Makeup $50
Hair $80
Jewelry $20
Nails (Mani + Pedi) $60
Total = $500

Boys

Tux $200 or higher
Shoes $150
Haircut $20
Corsage & Boutonniere $50
Total = $420

Extras

Dinner $30 (Location varies)
Ticket $50 (Different weeks will be different prices)

Everyone planning on attending prom should definitely start saving sooner, rather than later! Let’s make prom 2016 a good one.
