Horchatas, Nachos, Mangonadas, and pie throwing brought the Lincoln community together on Wednesday, March 9th for a Lincoln tradition: Mardi Gras. Students of all grades came together in the quad to watch several performances from our talented Dance and Band department.

Mardi Gras day is a yearly event that lincoln hosts to help clubs and other groups fundraise. The delicious food variety and intriguing performances also brought a broad range of new members to the several clubs at lincoln high school. There also was a fundraiser for the cheerleading team program, where students had the opportunity to throw pies at the teachers for a small fee of one pie for $2, or three pies for $5.

Overall, it was a fun time, and we would encourage anyone to attend the event. When asking Nallely Nava what she thought of the event she said, ”I really enjoyed the pie throwing event. Although I didn’t throw any pies myself, it was definitely enjoyable watching pies being thrown at our teachers.”
