Club Spotlight: Queer Student Union
Queer Student Union club meetings are held every Wednesday during lunch in room 9, which is Sr. Alonso’s room.
During club meetings, they will begin in their family groups and have a small discussion. Then, they will proceed to have a group discussion with the whole club. Discussions will revolve around current issues going on in and outside the queer community that affect its members.
In future events, the club will be hosting a drag show to raise money for queer-centric charities, and they will also be holding a staff meeting to further educate them about preferred names and pronouns in the classroom and dealing with queerphobia.
Their biggest goal for the year is to have a meeting with the leadership board to allow more queer people, people of color, and queer people of color in the school’s history curriculum.
