ALHS Club Summaries

Anime Club

Anime club is another one of the fun clubs at Lincoln (all though they are all fun). Last year this club was advised by Daniel Resz, the school’s Electronic Arts teacher, but this year it is advised by one of the Physics teachers, Noah Shen. This club is held in room 43 at lunch every Thursday. In this club, students can bring their lunches with them into the classroom and converse with others as well as watch different animes depending on if it’s close to a holiday or if no one really minds what gets put on.

Hope And Healing

The Hope and Healing club that has been apart of Lincoln for a few years. It is run by Ms.Borja every Thursday at lunch in room A1. The Hope and Healing club has been created to give students at Lincoln a chance to have a place to go to when they need to relax or study for an upcoming final or any big quiz/test. This club is made to help our students in need of a quick break during school hours and give them a chance to gather their thoughts as well as give them time to go over whatever else they need to study/finish any homework they weren’t able to do. When I signed up for this club and asked for the information about it, I was told that- to help the students relax -tea would be given out as well as lit candles and anything they can think of to help the students of Lincoln High School.

Convertibles

The Convertibles is one of Lincoln’s dance groups, performing at events and football games with amazing dancers of pretty much all four grades. Some of these dancers have been taking dance every year that they’ve been at Lincoln and show how much they practice in their performances. Just recently, the Convertibles performed at Lincoln’s game against Piedmont Hills dancing to Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift. It was the perfect dance to do seeing as Halloween had been just around the corner during this game. This dance group consists of people our own dance teachers Trevor Lynskey, Daniel George, and Chris Scadina helped choose when dancers from any level tried out for this group. If any of you are in dance and would like to try out for Convertibles, go for it. It’s incredibly fun and you’ll definitely make new friends from joining.

NAHS/FIDM

NAHS/FIDM is an art and design club that’s been apart of this school for quite a while. This club is led by Lincoln’s art teachers Eileen Zamora and Sofia Arredondo and is held in room 52 at lunch every Tuesday. In this club, you can create your own artwork and share it with the class and others outside of the school and help out at events as well as have the chance to show your creation at said events.

Youth-Led By Christ

Youth-Led By Christ is a club to ask questions about Christian faith and about who God and Jesus are along with what the teachings of the Bible say. This is a club open to any background whether you are Christian, atheist, Catholic, etc. YLBC meets at Lunch in room 14 every Tuesday, usually teaching things between the life and teachings of Jesus, a book in the Bible, or a historical figure who lived the Christian life God called them to. On days, when they aren’t doing a teaching, YLBC would do worship instead, bringing in a singer and guitarist (or other instruments) to lead Christian songs praising God.
