R.I.P. Juice Wrld
Jarad Anthony Higgins, aka Juice Wrld, was a young 21-year-old rapper. He suffered a seizure at the Chicago Midway airport this last Sunday, December 9th, 2019. He was taken to the hospital and was unfortunately pronounced dead at 3:14 a.m. by the Advocate Christ Medical Center. There is still a big concern about why the rapper suddenly had a cardiac arrest and the doctor has confirmed there will be an autopsy to investigate the reason behind it.
Upon his arrival at the airport, police officers found and seized 70 pounds of marijuana as well as unknown pills from Juice Wrld’s private jet. Moments after was when tragedy struck the 21-year-old rapper. According to TMZ, people on the plane told police officers that Higgins had popped (taken) a large number of pills on the plane, potentially causing his seizure after landing. It has been released that his heartbeat was unsteady so it took paramedics at least 40 minutes to treat him.
Juice Wrld’s death affected many fans while the news of his death quickly spread through the social media feed of many Lincoln students. Most of them posting the news, in addition to their choice of emoji, which were mostly sad, shocked, and crying emojis. The natural talent he brought to the audience while writing songs about pain to have his lyrics mean something memorable. A student at Lincoln who wished to remain anonymous said, “It hit me hard when I opened IG and the first thing I saw was the news that Juice Wrld had passed away… it’s tough because despite him doing drugs and all that other stuff, his music really inspired teenagers and really spoke to them through his lyrics.”
It also had a major impact on a few artists who quickly posted significant quotes. The artist Drake wrote, “I would like to see all the younger talent live longer and I hate waking up hearing another story filled with blessings was cut short.”
