Gear Up: Google Field Trip

Presiliano Rene Chacon

One of the many Google Logos in one of their many lobbys through out the Google campus.

On Thursday March 27th, Lincoln’s seniors a part of Gear Up got to attend Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, CA. We left right after brunch, which gave a few of us a chance to eat breakfast. Our transportation was a West Valley Trail Ways charter bus that was pretty nice, it included a bathroom and several televisions.

We arrived at Google and two members of the Google staff introduced themselves and also gave us tags that had our name. In front of one of the main buildings of Google they had several statues that looked like they were all big giant sweets. They all symbolized new updates that Google has achieved with Android.

Google had many activities that their employees can do well at work. Such as an outdoor beach volleyball court. They have two infinity pools. Which are pools you swim in place with. They also always have life guards on duty well anyone swims. They have Cafes and Eating stations almost anywhere. The idea is so that their employees don’t leave their work stations. With that being said an employee is supposedly not allowed to be 70 ft away from a eating place. They have many get things at google such as nap pods where anyone can go to take a nap. They have many great things and attributes for their employees.
