What is “Voz Latina”?
A new section has come to Lincoln Lion Tales! The section known as “Voz Latina” will be managed by the Spanish Translation team. Lincoln’s Spanish Translation team will be translating articles from Lion Tales, originally written in English, into Spanish. They will also write their own articles in Spanish.
So, why does Lion Tales need a new section? Ceara Brashears, a translator, has an answer to this. She said, “It is a chance for the Latino community to have a voice.”
Another translator, Nancy Covambias, agreed by saying, “It is a change to give Hispanics a voice in the newspaper.”
One Lincoln parent who speaks only Spanish said, “I think it’s an excellent idea! I can now be informed of what goes on in Lincoln.” She added, “Now us Spanish speaking parents don’t have an excuse to not be informed about our children’s school” (statements originally said in Spanish).
With this new section, Lion Tales will be giving our Spanish speaking folks an opportunity to have an insight into Lincoln’s news and events. Look forward to the new section,”Voz Latina,” and its multitude of translated and original articles!
