“Celebrate My Drive” Makes a Commitment to a Safer Future
A safe driving awareness campaign sponsored by State Farm will be held online from Oct. 15-24 . The point of this is to help teens be more cautious while driving, so they will eliminate actions such as texting or drinking while driving, reckless driving, and other infractions.
The goal of the campaign is to encourage as many teens as possible to make a safe driving commitment. It aims to reduce teen casualties and injuries from traffic accidents. Campaign organizers have created a slogan, “2N2,” which means “two eyes on the road, two hands on the wheel.”
Approximately seven teens, ages 16 to 19, die every day from motor vehicle injuries. Young people ages 15 to 24 make up only 14% of the U.S. population, however, they account for 30% of the total damage from motor vehicle injuries.
The school that has registered and obtained the most commitments from students will receive up to $100,000 cash and a Grand Prize Concert by Grammy award-winning music group, The Band Perry.
Everyone ages 14 and up can take part, along with their community, school or family.
If you want to help your school, or just make a commitment to safe driving, you can do so here.
