Lincoln’s Latinos Unite

A table set up in honor of Day of the Dead

Latinos Unidos had its first club meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 8th. The meeting was run by the president, Steffan Velasquez, and the vice president, David Plascencia.

The club is a community that supports the many cultures of Latin America. The main goals of the club are to represent their culture in events, spread awareness about Latino culture, and make Hispanics feel welcome at school. The club hopes to host several events, including a Day of the Dead celebration, several soccer games, and a talent show based on Latino culture. The show would feature traditional dances, singing, etc.

Latinos Unidos will be teaming up with the Fashion Club for the Day of the Dead celebration; Fashion Club will be making Day of the Dead outfits, while Latinos Unidos will be selling calaveras.

If you are interested in joining Latino Unidos then stop by at a meeting. They are held every Wednesday in Ms. Perez’s room, Room 11.
