Mrs. Reid, the AP computer science teacher for Lincoln, was recently featured in the “Maestros De Impacto” (Teachers Who Make an Impact) 45 minute education-focused TV special. The special is part of Univision Contigo’s “Award-winning education initiative.”  Mrs. Reid was granted both the interview and minor contributions in the form of LEGO Mindstorms towards her computer science class as part of Univision’s goal to increase STEM curriculum exposure across the nation. When asked on why she decided to participate in the program, Mrs. Reid stated: “Software is changing our world faster and faster each day.  Programming skills is an essential 21st Century Skill. We need to prepare all students, especially those under represented in Tech, Latinos, African -Americans, and women, to be able to compete in a competitive global market.”
