Boys Varsity Soccer Team Continues with their Season
The Lincoln Lions boys Varsity soccer team has had a tough season recently. They lost games against Silver Creek, Santa Teresa, and Prospect.
Lincoln lost against Silver Creek with a score of 1-0 on Thursday, Jan. 29. They lost previous games as well; 3-0 against Santa Teresa and 2-0 against Prospect.
The game played against Prospect on Thursday, Jan. 22 initially seemed like Lincoln would win. However, the second half of the game turned against Lincoln and Prospect ended up winning.
The game’s first goal was a one-on-one against Lincoln’s keeper, Julian Lorenzo, and a forward player from Prospect scored. The second goal was scored by a free kick from Prospect and kicked straight over the keeper.
Lincoln had been third place in league but lost against Prospect, which was last place in the league. This game was a devastating loss for the Lions. The next home game is on Tuesday, Feb. 3 against Yerba Buena. Come and support the Lions on the soccer field. JV plays at 3:15 pm and Varsity plays at 5:15 pm.
