Biggest Night of the Year For JV Football: Little Bone
For the eighteenth year in a row, victory was in the air as Lincoln’s junior varsity team beat San Jose High with a final score of 28-6 in the annual Little Bone, which took place at our own turf on November 19, 2015. Little bone is J.V.’s final game of the season and is played against their long-time rivals, the Bulldogs. Lions managed to score the first touchdown of the game with 3 minutes remaining in the first quarter and dominated for the rest of the game. Unexpectedly, in the last quarter San Jose High was able to make their only touchdown with 23 seconds to go.
The atmosphere was exhilarating as students and parents cheered on the victorious team with chants such as “bone stays home!” and “let’s go lions, let’s go!” Not to mention our phenomenal pep band who never let a dull moment pass.
The crowd was equally entertained by all the outstanding halftime performances. Halftime celebrations began with Lincoln’s royalty being announced, convertible member Miyu Nakajima as Little Bone Queen and performing arts major character Emilio Tagimaroa-Keep as Little Bone King. San Jose High’s cheerleaders were first to perform, followed by our Lincoln cheer team. Convertibles were the next performance to further excite an energized crowd. Following Convertibles was an awe-striking performance by our very own Lion Pride Band directed by Mr.Mackenzie. The band produced a jaw-dropping moment when they managed to form LHS across the football field. With the help of the cheerleaders, the J.V. team ran through the banner to end the half-time celebrations and hype the crowd for the second half of the game.
