Girls JV Soccer Game Recap: Lincoln vs. Mt. Pleasant
Thursday, February 4th 2015, the JV soccer girls team played an outstanding game at Lincoln against the Mt.Pleasant Cardinals, winning 7-2.
The JV girls have had a great season so far, with a record 1-2-1 in league and 12-3-2 overall. During the game, Sophomore Victoria Aguilar, #21, gave the Lions the lead in the first half by scoring an amazing goal! This was followed up by her teammate, Junior Sonia Serrano #20, who managed to give the Lions a two goal lead with a score of 2-0.
The Mt.Pleasant Cardinals were not giving up, and scored moments later, making it a 2-1 match at that point. As the first half had came to an end, the Lincoln Lions and the Mt.Pleasant Cardinals were ready to start fighting for the win in the second half!
At the start of the second half, Victoria Aguilar, by the help of her teammates, scored two amazing goals back-to-back, and made the score 4-1! The Lincoln Lions were having a great game that evening. Alex Gallegos #9 a junior at Lincoln, helped the Lions by scoring a goal and made the score 5-1.
The Mt. Pleasant Cardinals did not give up, and scored their second goal, making the score 5-2. Sonia Serrano, however, was on a roll this night, fighting and kicking her way to a great shot and goal, giving the Lions a great advantage to win the game with the score of 6-2.
With the second half almost coming to an end, Nancy Estrella #22 a Freshman at Lincoln, made a great play and collided with her opponent, giving her a penalty kick opportunity. She was able to score her first ever goal as a Lion, ending the game with a score of 7-2!
