Lincoln Varsity Soccer Boys Win CCS Game 1, Semifinal Tonight
Lincoln Lion Tales attended the Varsity Boys’ soccer playoff — game one — against Willow Glen Wednesday evening. The game lasted approximately two and half hours. The game started off fairly slow and the crowd was calm. As the game moved along, the crowd became intense and passionate about the game. Words were being thrown across the bleachers; the audience was getting really riled up throughout the night.
The final score was 6-5 plus the penalty kicks.
After the game, Jocelyn Insurriaga interviewed the goalie, the team captain, and the head coach.
Lion Tales interviewed the goalie, Ulices Ocampo after the game. Question one: How did you feel after the game? He responded with “I feel like we did great, we came in the clutch.” Question two: How did you feel during the game? Ulices said that he was nervous but pumped ready.
The next interview was with the team captain, Gabriel De La Torre. Question one: How do you feel after the game? He responded with ” I feel great and tired.” Question two: What did the game mean to you? Gabriel said that the game meant everything to him, especially because this is his last year playing; it was win or go home.
And lastly, Lion Tales interviewed Coach Juan Torres. Question one: How proud are you on a scale from 1-10? Coach responded with “a nine, because our first objective: win league and
second: to win CCS .” Question two: What were you thinking during the game. He said that they had to continuously work hard for the game and that it would be a team effort.
