Winter Sports Preview: Boys Basketball
The 2016-2017 boys basketball teams rosters have just been finalized and the preseason has already begun. Last season, the varsity team finished with a modest 8-14 record. The varsity team is adjusting to their new head coach after their former varsity head coach, Tariq Abdul-Wahad, decided to part ways. The new varsity head coach is Joe Lopez, who coached the Frosh/Soph team the past couple of years.
One of the most talented seniors on the varsity team, Eyob Feisa, said, “[The adjustment to the new varsity coach] was not really hard because we played with him on JV and he was my Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) coach.”
Eyob also said, “My basketball experience here at Lincoln has been great. I’ve been honored to play with 2 different coaches and amazing teammates. Although we haven’t been on the winning side of a lot of games during my tenure, it’s always been fun. And I do not plan on playing college basketball.”
The varsity team has many home games this year, so make sure to go cheer them on this season. The rosters and schedules are listed below.
