American Gold

Sage Kotsenburg, a 20 year old from Park City, Utah, pulled out an amazing run in slope style during the Sochi Winter Olympics. Slope style is a winter sporting event where the goal is to perform the most difficult tricks while getting the highest altitudes off jumps on a snowboard. Competitors are scored up to 100 based on the amount of tricks they can do as well as speed and the difficulty of each move.

During Sage Kotsenburg’s run, he landed a cab-to-fakie, a half-cab 540 off the second rail, half-cab double-hand-drag-back-1 on the third rail, a massive cab-12 double holy-crail, frontside 1080 rocket-air, ending the run off with an amazing backside 1620 japan.

American two time gold medalist Shaun White dropped out of slope style earlier last week, leaving Sage Kotensburg a huge opportunity  to prove his place in the Olympics. He did so by scoring a personal record in slope style of 93.5, bringing home his first gold medal of the winter Olympics.

GOOD LUCK TEAM USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
