Track and Field Season Preview
Lincoln’s track and field team is getting closer to opening up the season on Thursday, March 6th, and it seems like they’re ready to compete against the rest of the schools.
First meet for the Lions will be against the Overfelt Royals, at 3:00 pm on Lincoln’s field.
Giovanni Velasquez excitingly said, “I’m ready for sprints but overall I’m ready for track and field post-season to start so I can give it my all.”
The track and field team is really large this year, and it seems that the whole team is motivated to get on the field. The coaches will have to put in more work because there’s a lot of students and each will receive some one-on-one attention to help them improve.
Tatiana Tejeda said, “I’m nervous, but at the same time I’m excited and it seems kind of weird to be excited for running, or shall I say track and field.”
The team knows that they’ll have to help each other out on the field and also when they’re on the sidelines waiting for their turn to compete in events.
A big congratulations to all members of the track and field team, and good luck on the upcoming season!
