Baseball is Back!
With the NFL in the rear view mirror, it’s time for the MLB to take the spotlight. Baseball season is back! Spring Training is in full swing with the Cactus League in Arizona, and the Grapefruit League in Florida. And in a short month, opening day will be upon us; scheduled for March 26th, 2020.
This off-season was a very interesting one from recent memory. Headlined by the Astros sign stealing scandal, there was a lot of activity happening around the league. One of the transactions that took place was my personal favorite, Mookie Betts getting traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Adding one of the best players in the league to an already stacked lineup, is bound for a big year.
I talked to some baseball fans and asked them about their expectations for the season. Senior Marcus Gill said, “With all that’s been happening with the Astros, I feel like it’s going to be interesting to see how the other teams approach them when competing against them… the [San Francisco] Giants are in rebuild mode, so I don’t expect them to do anything special.” Senior Michael DeRueda said, “I don’t care what anybody says, the [San Francisco] Giants are going to be good and make it back to the playoffs.”
