Baseball Victory Over Gunderson
Last night our baseball team went up against the Gunderson Grizzlies and won with a final score of 7-3
Lincoln’s Varsity team currently has a record of 9-0 in league. Gunderson is 4-4.
It was a great game with the pitching skills from Sophomore ball player Andrew Shafer and Freshman starting catcher Robert Najar. These two were unstoppable throughout the game, both playing well and relying on each other to do what they do best.
The game started off with an outstanding hit from Sophomore Tobias Veyna hitting a line drive into the pocket of center and left field getting him a double and showing his teammates how to hit a baseball. Bringing Tobias home was RBI hitter Robert Zamora.
The Lions were able to show the Grizzlies that they were not going to give them the win within the first few innings, by not letting them score until the fourth inning.
By the time the Grizzlies were able to put bats on the balls the Lions already had a lead that was tough to catch up to. The Grizzlies managed to bring in three runners, two of which hit off of Sophomore closing pitcher Robert Zamora.
Come watch the next Varsity Game against Summit High School tonight, March 28, at the Lincoln baseball field starting at 4:00.
