Hit, Set, and Spike– Girls Volleyball

The girls’ volleyball teams are headed for a big win this season. They had their first game Sept. 9th at the Lions’ home.

The girls’ Junior Varsity and Varsity teams had their first preseason away games against four different schools during a tournament on Friday, Sept 5th. The freshman team had their first preseason game at Lincoln on Tuesday Sept 9th.

The coach expects to have a great season and to have some fun. The coaches say that having fun and trying one’s best are the most important aspects of the game. Coach Kim said that as long as the girls “try their hardest to win and have fun, that’s a good thing.”

Lincoln sophomore Kassandra Salazar mentioned that “my team and I will succeed this season as long as we have teamwork.” Salazar discussed what inspired her to join volleyball, saying, “My family and friends encourage me to play this sport, but I enjoy playing because I’m athletic.”

Come out to support your fellow Lions at their next home volleyball games on Tuesday, Sept. 23 to see if they will set the bar high for the rest of the season. Junior Varsity will begin at 6pm and Varsity will begin at 8pm.
