New Prom Restrictions Implemented
On Tuesday, March 28th, the following changes were made: – The conditions for students from other schools attending have been changed. – Attendance requirements regarding tardies and absences have been changed.
Prom is facing changes after a series of behavioral issues.
Starting with the mid-event cancellation of the “Beyond the Galaxy” dance, the Lincoln administration has been concerned with the amount of inappropriate behavior exhibited by the student body.
As a result, the administration has decided to impose new restrictions on Prom, including but not limited to:
- The exclusion of the Freshman and Sophomore classes.
- The requirement that students from other schools fill out a guest form prior to purchasing a ticket. Guests of this type must be no older than 21.
- Juniors will be required, by May 8th, to have a minimum 30 hours of community service, Seniors will need 40 hours.
- Any Student who receives more than 9 tardies and/or more than 3 single period unexcused absences after March 22nd shall not be allowed to purchase tickets.
