Kygo Upcoming Album and Singles (Opinion)

(Noel Ramirez / Lion Tales)

Kygo is an artist who started as a household music producer to a huge artist that has established a huge fan base of over 1.2 million people on Soundcloud, and peaking at #4 on the worldwide Spotify chart, and has had many sell out shows throughout Europe and North America. He is an incredible artist known for making Tropical House music. Tropical House is a sub-genre to deep house music that uses instruments such as steel drums, marimba, and pan flutes. Kygo has made many hit songs like “Firestone,” “Stole the show,” and has many popular remixes of songs like M83-Wait, and Coldplay-Midnight.

Kygo’s new album “Cloud Nine” that was originally set to be released on February 12, 2016,  but he later delayed the album to be released on May 13, 2016. So far, he has released 5 songs of the 15 tracks set to be released. This includes songs like Stole the Show, Firestone, I’m in Love, Fragile, and Raging.

“I’m in Love” is a slower song from his album that is very relaxing, and gives a “romantic” feel to anyone who listens to it.

“Fragile” was produced along side with Labrinth. this song has powerful vocals, and can feel the singers pain and emotion that he puts into the song. This song is by far the most “emotional” song out of the 5 songs released so far.

“Raging” is an “uplifting” song and can be compared to some of Illenium’s work. This song offers amazing vocals from Kodaline, and is a great song for car trips, or even background music when you are doing homework.

“Firestone” (my personal favorite) is Kygo’s first original single, and is one of his most popular songs having over 715k likes on Soundcloud and 40 million plays on Spotify. it features artist Conrad whos vocals, combined with Kygo’s producer abilities, is incredible. This song has a very “tropical” and ” happy” drop that is perfect for the beach or road trips.

“Stole the Show”, which features Parson James as its singer, offers a creative and enjoyable flute drop, and became an instant hit when it was released back in march of 2015.

Based on what Kygo has released so far, it would be an understatement that fans (like myself) are “excited” for his album to come out. As of right now, we can only hope that his other 10 songs will be equally as good (or better), to the current singles released.
