Lincoln’s Trees Sparkle at Christmas in the Park
Every year in downtown San Jose, the city hosts “Christmas In The Park” in Cesar Chavez Plaza. It’s a great place to spend time with family. You can go on rides, ice skating, drink hot chocolate, eat churros and look at Christmas trees decorated by businesses, school groups, and other organizations throughout Santa Clara County.
Throughout the holiday season, organizations, like Petco, host events at the Park to find homes for sheltered animals. Christmas in the Park also allows groups to decorate trees. This year, Lincoln had 2 Christmas trees, one decorated by the Convertibles, Lincoln’s dance team, and one for Xóchitl, Lincoln’s ballet folklorico team.
The Lincoln Convertibles partnered with Valley Christian High School to help design the tree, according to the Mr. George, the teacher. Students decorated the tree with store bought as well as homemade ornaments. The ornaments reflected the colors of both schools combined. The colors were, gold, navy blue and silver. Having the tree up made the Convertibles dance teacher, Mr. George, very happy and excited. He believes that the tree will make the people of San Jose happy and aware of Lincoln’s dance team.
