COVID-19 update: Is this a global threat?
The COVID-19 or Corona Virus has startled the world both economically and socially. Multiple businesses in China have shut down due to the death of thousands of victims of this deadly virus. 02/25/20, COVID-19 reached Italy as well as Iran. Everyone around the world was devastated. Is this going to become a global virus? One of my classmates Antonia said, “ I’m going to Italy in 2 months and I really don’t want to get it.” As for myself, my family and I were going to visit Spain over spring break. My parents were frightened once the corona virus reached Italy. Since there is no cure my family and I are going to Disneyland instead.
Experts say that if you can, stay out of international travel until a cure is made. The COVID-19 has claimed 2,711 lives with 87,000 cases still to be solved. Make sure to wash your hands and always stay away from large crowded areas. The Corona Virus should be taken very seriously and talk to your doctor immediately if you have flu-like symptoms. There have been several cases in North America, try to avoid going to asian or european countries to not only benefit your own personal health but help prevent the global spread of this dangerous disease.
Doctors are trying to stop this spread by issolating people who have the corona virus. Dr. Fauci from NY times stated that we need to start preparing the U.S for this virus. The World Health Organization declared this virus as a global threat.
02/27/20, there was a case of COVID-19 right here in the bay area. The victim hasn’t traveled anywhere outside of the country or anything. Always remember to stay sanitary especially in the time of this horrific and incurable virus.
