Get Medieval with Lincoln

Lincoln’s Performing Arts Department held a Madrigal dinner this past weekend from Dec. 5-6. A Madrigal dinner is usually a Renaissance feast in England during the twelve days of Christmas. The Madrigal dinner had the weekend going up!

Ms. Anne- Marie Katemopoulos or otherwise known as Ms.K said “The Madrigal dinner is a great way for students and choir to join together for the greater good.”

This event was not only a dinner but also had entertainment and music. This was the second year of having a Madrigal dinner at Lincoln.

“We are definitely doing this event again, and I hope more people will come and support the department,” said Ms. K.

At 5:30 pm, the event started with entertainment including face-painting, fortune-telling, games, and goods for sale. Dinner was served at at 6:30pm.

General admission tickets were sold for $30 and Royal Court tickets sold for $50. Royal Court seating offered guests preferential seating with the Queen, an option of a turkey leg for dinner, a photo with our royalty, and a few gifts.

The meals consisted of  Minestrone Soup, Garden Salad, Rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy or Spinach Lasagna, Apple Pie, Lemonade, Iced Tea or Coffee.

Over 150 people attended the dinner and hopefully more people will participate next year. Ms K’s favorite part about the dinner was “watching all the students have a good time which makes the audience have a good time.”
