British Invade the Black Box for Java and Jazz
Ms. Anne-Marie Katemopoulos cracked funny jokes, Vocal Ease and Estetica sang gracefully, and in a packed theater, Lincoln’s 22nd annual Java and Jazz was a success. Java and Jazz was on the evening of Feb. 6 and 7.
The event was a success due to the amount of family and friends that showed up. Java and Jazz was split into two acts. Each act was an one hour long. The first act started with Ms.K saying hilarious and corny jokes that made the audience giggle. Sophomore Tori Rystrom was the first to sing in the performance. She sounded incredible and stunned the crowd.
After the first act was over, a twenty minute intermission was held. During the first act, tickets for a raffle were sold for $1. The winner was announced in the second act, but the winner had to sing a song in front of the audience
Senior, and also the show’s pianist, Callum Johnston’s mom won the raffle.
After the entire show ended, Lincoln’s band played music from the movie Austin Powers.
Ms. K’s expectation for next year is to continue this event, have it be successful and have large audiences like the Java and Jazz this time around. She said, “My favorite part of the show was that my students were having a great time and enjoying the show.”
