Lincoln Lion Tales interviewed Principal Hewitson on June 23, 2015 to discuss how the Measure H funds will be used at Lincoln.  Specifically, he spoke about the remodeling of the Media Center.  What follows below is paraphrased from the interview.

Lion Tales (LT): When will the remodeling of the library start?

Mr. Hewitson (MH): After Thanksgiving 2015, the Media Center will begin its interior remodeling. The Media Center was built in the late 90s and is now an out of date facility. The goal is to have the remodeling done by the end of February of 2016.

LT: How is the remodeling getting planned?

MH: A construction company and an architect will be hired and will do the planning.

LT: Where will the library be while the Media Center is being remodeled?

MH: While the remodeling is in session, the library will be closed for a few months, because, unfortunately, there’s no other place that can replace it.

LT: What are some highlights?

MH: Many new resources will be available for teachers and students. Staff members want to make it a project based learning environment as a new approach. For example technology resources, collaboration space, and presentation space, will be a part of the new Media Center.

We are looking forward to the new Media Center in the in 2016! Stay tuned in for more updates.
