Phife Dawg Death
On March 22nd, 2016 rapper Malik Taylor, better known as “Phife Dawg” from the chart topping rap group “A Tribe Called Quest” died from complications with diabetes at age 45 in his San Francisco home. Malik Taylor was born on November 20th, 1970 in Queens New York. He was known for being Co-founder of A Tribe Called Quest and his clever rhymes with the group in the late 80’s early 90’s. The group was known for their classic jazz style and their album “Midnight Marauders” which reached Billboard #1 album for R&B/HipHop in 1993.
Phife Dawg was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in May of 1990. He inspired many people that have diabetes and helped many to accept and cope with the illness. The rap group inspired many artist of today and their style can be seen in many ways. Phife Dawg leaves behind his wife and daughter. He will always be remembered in the Hip Hop world as the member of the pioneer group A Tribe Called Quest.
