Preview: One Act Play Fest
Next week, on May 18th-20th at 7:00 p.m., Lincoln Theater Students will act out and direct plays they have been working hard to write. Tickets will be sold for $12 but students with an ID get $2 off when tickets are purchased at the Box Office. Not all plays are suitable for younger audiences, however children 12 and under are still welcomed.
One of the plays chosen to be produced was written by junior, Veyda Alvarez. Veyda informed Lion Tales that her one act is about “Ex Presidential nominee Ted Cruz. He’s having an affair with Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton and after a couple of misadventures the next president of the United States is elected.” Veyda encourages people to attend the One Acts and watch her play because “it’s hella fire and it’s really funny.”
Lion Tales also reached out to Alondra Esquivel who told us that the One Act she’s in is called ID. “It’s about this character named Dan,” Alondra said, “and his emotions…basically it’s a little bit inappropriate. They’re talking about Dan having intercourse with his girlfriend and how she’s coming over tonight and it’s just a bunch of emotions. It’s like a parody of the Inside Out movie.” Alondra said teens will “really like” this play.
If you can’t make it to the Box Office ticket are also available online at the Lincoln Performing Arts website here.
