Calling all Dramatic Fanatics!

The drama students at Lincoln have been at work for weeks, preparing for the newest play. This year, BiTCo’s production of “The Monkey King” and “Nine Dragons” was the first to debut at the box office. These two Chinese stories teach valuable moral lessons about kindness and generosity, making it a great show for the entire family. The show runs until Saturday, September 24th, so be sure to check it out soon.

In addition to this play, the drama department is also prepping for its next show: “Grease”. This upbeat musical has long been considered an American classic, and Lincoln’s version of the show will no doubt make a memorable impression on audiences. Expect to see your favorite Grease characters onstage starting November 3rd!

The cast of Grease features around 77 students in all, between lead actors and ensemble members. While rehearsals have been happening for a few weeks now, it’ll still be a while before performances begin. However, even with such a long period left until opening night, tickets are already selling fast.

“The cast has a great energy this year!” said BiTCo member Sophie Philipson. Viewers can also look forward to seeing “great choreography during the musical numbers.”

Unlike “The Monkey King” and “Nine Dragons,” however, the play may not be suitable for all ages. A small heads-up posted on the site warns that seeing the show may not be the best idea for those who are “sensitive to the behavior of real life teenagers!”

Anyone interested in seeing either of the shows can head to LincolnPerformingArts.com to get tickets and stay up to date on the latest shows and concerts. As always, remember to support our local arts programs!
