Little Bone Recap: Lincoln VS. San Jose

On Thursday, November 10th the Lincoln Lions played longtime-rivals San Jose Bulldogs during an amazing game at Little Bone. Lincoln’s victory for the Little Bone was indecisive before the game, but the Lions’ JV team took home yet another win with a final score of 42-15!

The Lions managed to score within the first 5 minutes of the 1st quarter, taking a lead of 7-0. Following the next play, Lions scored another touchdown giving them a 14-0 lead. With a surprise fumble from the San Jose Bulldogs in the last 7 minutes of the 1st quarter, Lincoln picked it up from the 50 yard line and ran it back for another touchdown, leading the Bulldogs 20-0.

At the start of the 2nd quarter, San Jose scored, finally getting on the board. However, the Lions played a strong game and scored a touchdown just seconds before the 2nd quarter ended, leading the Bulldogs 28-7.

The Lincoln halftime celebration started off with Lincoln’s royalty being announced: Sophomore Ali Shokry as Little Bone King and Ashley Serrano as Little Bone Queen, Leonel Espinoza Muniz  as 1st Prince and Gianna Zades as 1st Princess, Adrian Gaspar as 2nd Prince and Meghan Schroeder as 2nd Princess, and Gabriel Florez as 3rd Prince and Rachel Rivera as 3rd Princess. San Jose High’s cheer squadd performed first and put on an outstanding performance. They were followed by Lincoln’s JV cheer team. LPC (Lincoln Performance Company) performed right after, and the Lincoln Convertibles were next to perform. Lincoln’s Pep Band, directed by Mr. Gomez, also marched on the field during halftime. 

The crowd was amazingly loud and so was Lincoln’s Pep Band. Students were roaring, and the band members played their hearts out! The atmosphere was hyped up and everyone was cheering “Bone stays home!” and “Lets go Lions!” Songs like “Hey Baby!” were played by the band too, and the crowd sang along.

At the start of the 3rd quarter, Lions were on fire after making two amazing plays and scoring two touchdowns! However, San Jose didn’t give up and ended up scoring as well. Lincoln had a huge lead on the Bulldogs, with a score of 42-15 and was on the right path to victory.

As the 4th quarter ended, the Lions finished on top, celebrating their 19th win against San Jose High and taking home the Little Bone!
