Mardi Grad: (Anti Prom)

Due to regulations applied to Lincoln’s prom, a group of students decided to host their own prom. Some students have referred to it as “Anti-prom,” but the the event is formally called “Mardi Grad.” Similar to Lincoln’s prom, the event will take place on May 20th, from 8p.m-12a.m.
According to a Google Doc containing contact information, Eric Donnelly, Cammy Du, Briana Morales, Corrina Barrera, Emellie Asiatico, Cris Gonzalez, and Brennan Nguyen are the students selling tickets. The students declined to comment on their reasons behind throwing the event.
The venue is booked at Lili’s Sweet Memories on 625 Wool Creek Drive, San Jose, CA 95112. Ticket prices started at $50 for seniors/juniors/outside guests and $60 for freshmen/sophomores. They have since risen to $55 for seniors/juniors/outside guests and $65 for freshman and sophomores, beginning May 12th. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Students from all schools are welcome but the organizers will only sell tickets to people they know personally. Wednesday, May 17th is the last day to buy tickets.
