On Friday the 18th of August Lincoln welcomed back returning Lions and celebrated the opportunity of new beginnings with the newly arrived freshman.

All students, however, were united by the theme of the dance  “Tee’s and Tennies” showing up in their favorite (or sometimes absurd) sneakers. The dance also held a sneaker competition for the most outrageous shoes, a pair of Vans covered in glued-on skittles won.

Students also had dance competitions on the dance floor to student government made playlists; students sent in their favorite songs the days leading up to the dance.

One senior, Sam Leingang, had the entire dance in laughter as he held up his creation at the “Make Your Own Tee” table; the shirt had an image of Matthew Hewitson in bright colors, a shirt that was later signed by the prized principle.

Mischief has been no stranger to Lincoln dances in the past, last year prom was nearly canceled for drug and alcohol shenanigans that took place during the 2016 Homecoming, but this year Lincoln’s administration was proud to report that the night went smoothly.
