U.S. Air Force Jazz Band Tour California

On Monday October 2, 2017 the United States Air Force Jazz Band, the Airmen of Note, put on a concert in El Cerrito High School for local Jazz Bands. Lincoln High School were fortunate enough to have both of their Jazz Bands(Jazz Band 1 and Jazz Lab) attend the concert.

The Airmen of Note was originally founded after WWII, as a way to continue the legacy of  three musicians whom which entertained soldiers on the front lines in WWII. The Airmen of Note are currently based in Washington D.C, and go on annual tours around the country.

-Timothy D. Leahey (Trumpet)

-Kevin R. Burns (Trumpet)

-Kevin A. Grovich (Trombone)

-Jeffery B. Martin (Trombone)

-Benjamin P. Patterson (Trombone)

-Benjamin F. Polk (Bass Trombone)

-Geoffrey C. Reecer (Guitar)

-Cameron S. Kayne (Bass Guitar)

-Steven D. Erickson (Piano)

-David D. McDonald (Drums)

-Paige C. Wroble (Vocals)

At first the Airmen of Note performed a Latin inspired chart, after the band finished playing Master Sergeant Benjamin P. Patterson took the stage and introduced the entire band. Then Sergeant Patterson did a quick q&a(question and answer) and he introduced vocalist Paige C. Wroble. She sang two charts, after which Sergeant Patterson did another q&a and asked up to the stage Tedd C. Baker, Grant M. Langford, and Douglas C. Morgan to perform the last chart of the night.

After the concert was over the Airmen of Note offered lessons for their respective instruments; in their lessons they gave students quick tips and helped perfect their techniques.
