A break-in occurred January 3rd at about 3:30 am, in the Lincoln Center Library. After speaking to the Principal, Matthew Hewitson, Lion Tales found out the following details.

The perpetrator threw a giant rock through one of the back door glass windows and quickly grabbed 4 desktop computers that did not contain any locks, unlike the other desktops within the Media Center. When the window was smashed, it then triggered the school’s burglar alarm to sound off. This lead to Lincoln’s security team dispatching and arriving unfortunately at the scene after the burglar had left. The perpetrator was able to complete this thievery within as short as a minute and a half.

According to surveillance footage, the thief does not appear to be a current Lincoln Student. In reaction to this event, the school is going to upgrade the same locking mechanism as other current computers in order to prevent another similar crime from occurring again.
