Abraham Lincoln High School is introducing many teachers to their campus. Lincoln Lion Tales interviewed a new English teacher, her name is Michelle Quarneri. She was a former teacher at Palo Alto. She taught middle school English and Reading Intervention to seventh and eighth grade for eight years.

She later became a librarian of Trace Elementary School for four years. After, she came to Lincoln High School to start her fist year of teaching high school students English.

She went to San Jose State University for her bachelor’s degree in theater. Then, she went back to get her master’s degree for teaching because she believed it was right for her. She graduated in the early 2000’s.

“I have always loved working with young people, and I also am very passionate of education for myself, […] and learning new things.”  She believes it was a natural fit to teach English and “hopefully impact kids that way”.

Besides teaching, Ms. Quarneri loves to read on her own time.

Her advice to students, “Pick something you’re passionate about and be flexible about it.”
