With Disney riding high off the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Encanto the big question is, what’s next?

It’s hard to imagine how the entertainment company will top its 2021 films as Marvel’s third installment in its Spider-Man franchise has made over $1 billion internationally and is continuing to grow. Not to mention the company’s newest animated film Encanto topping the Billboard charts for 6 consecutive weeks, surpassing Disney’s hit film Frozen which peaked at number 5 on the music chart

As a self proclaimed Disney fanatic I would like to share my top 3 anticipated projects the company is set to release in the foreseeable future.

  • ‘Turning Red’

The Pixar film follows Chinese-Canadian 13-year old Meilin (Mei) Lee as she navigates the insanity of her youth, not to mention she turns into a giant Red Panda whenever her emotions are strong. The movie is said to be an allegory to puberty with one scene even containing pads, something I’ve yet to see in any film ever. The trailers for the movie seem fun and exciting, just as exciting as the fact that Turning Red is the first Pixar film to ever have an all female leadership team. A movie about teenage girls that’s coming to life through the work of women, now that’s something I can’t wait to see.

  • ‘Agatha: House of Harkness’ (Wanda Vision spoiler warning)

While the release date is TBD as of now the Disney+ show is set to dive into Agatha, a character viewers were introduced to in the Marvel TV show Wanda Vision. When first introduced Agatha appeared seemingly from nowhere but after she went head to head with Marvel’s top witch she became a big point of interest to many Marvel fans.  Despite Disney not releasing much information on the project so far, I’m sure it will be on the top of many fans’ watch lists when it comes out.

  • ‘Disenchanted’ (Enchanted Sequel)

Serving as a sequel to the 2007 musical comedy Enchanted, The Disney+ movie is said to be showing up in viewers’ living rooms sometime in Autumn 2022.  With most of the original cast reprising their roles in the film such as Amy Adams as Giselle and Patrick Dempsey as Robert the movie is anticipated to be a hit amongst fans of the original movie. I personally am very excited to see what this movie has in store.
