Cultural Music Review
Recently, I listened to different songs from around the world, including the Dominican Republic, India, and America. They were all full of great advice.
“Corazón Sin Cara” from Prince Royce is an amazing Spanish song, because of its lyrics. The name of the song can be translated love is beyond appearances. It explains how love isn’t based off of looks; even the prettiest people are insecure about their appearance. The message this song sends is that people are beautiful just the way they are. Prince Royce also adds that if people truly love each other, they will accept one another for who they are – which includes their flaws. Moreover, in love, people don’t judge each other by appearance. Physical characteristics are the least important. The most important thing he stresses is that people must love themselves in order for anyone to love them.
“Nagada Sang Dhol” by Shreya Ghoshal is a beautiful Indian song. The name of the song can be translated to dance with the drums. Although I don’t understand what is being sung, I can’t help but tap my foot or move my head when I listen to it. It has such a nice rhythm and sounds very happy. The choreography in the video is breathtaking because the dance goes with the beat. The red outfits the dancers were wearing made the video so bright. It was all put together amazingly.
“All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor is a wonderful English song. The song is basically referring to a girl’s weight and appearance. It’s saying that people are beautiful no matter their size. You can’t help but dance and sing along when listening because the beat and the lyrics are so catchy. The music video is very colorful and unique because it was made to look as if everyone was plastic, like dolls. It’s one of my top favorites that I recommend to anyone and everyone.
