Movie Review: Annie

Movie Review: Annie

Quvenzhane Wallis was nominated for a Golden Globe Award, and although she didn’t win, “Annie” was definitely a hit in theaters. On Dec. 19th, 2014, a musical comedy “Annie” came out in theaters. “Annie” was directed by Will Gluck and starred many famous celebrities such as Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, and Bobby Cannavale.

The movie is based on an orphan child who lives in a rough environment and faces many struggles in life. In the movie, the main character Will Stacks, played by Jamie Foxx, uses Annie for good publicity because he is in a campaign. However, after getting to understand her he starts to care for her. Soon, he becomes a big part of her life.

One of the best parts was when Annie’s foster mom recognized her own mistakes and made up for them. It was an emotional scene because during the movie she seemed heartless but from that point on she revealed her inner self. She let her past ruin her present but eventually she started to be more considerate of others’ feelings.

Another good part of the musical comedy “Annie” was when Will took Annie out of her foster home and adopted her. Will is her legal guardian from then on which makes Annie feel  relieved because she won’t have to live in a foster home anymore. This part is realistic because it shows that Will has a great heart and did something that changed someone’s life forever. Will showed his true self at the end of the movie by showing his concern and care for Annie. The scene teaches the audience to be more kind to the people around them and not take life for granted.

In conclusion, we give this movie an 8/10 because it was well put together and taught a great life lesson to appreciate everything you have.
