On Wednesday, January 29th, our Lincoln varsity girls basketball team beat the Del Mar Dons in an easy win with an ending score of 48-21!

Del Mar came in wanting the “W” but couldn’t quite leave with it against our Lady Lions.

By the end of the first quarter, our Lions had 13 on the score board and the Dons had 3. The Lions got there with some outstanding ball work from our freshman point guard Vanessa Azure #21, and some hard hustle from our Lincoln senior Hannah Pham #5.

In the second quarter, Lincoln managed to throw up 6 more points while Del Mar posted a paltry point. Some impressive plays on the Lincoln side made by Janet Jones #23 and Vanessa Azure.  After this quarter, our Lions left the gym for a short while for half time. Leaving the score to be 19-4

The Lion girls came out of the locker room pumped and ready to finalize their win against the Del Mar Dons. Both teams walked out yearning for the win.

Our Lincoln players, of course, were able to come out on top scoring a total of 16 points in this quarter and having fun while doing it. The Dons managed to put up 7 points and were struggling to catch up. Great job to the scorers of this quarter Melanie Reis #14, Kira Brashears #15, and Janet Jones #23.

The final quarter of the game ended with our Lincoln girls just having fun and preserving their lead in the game. Although they were enjoying their time in the Lincoln gym, they were still able to push their score up by 13 points. The excitement from the Lincoln side drove Del Mar to step up their playing and put up 12 points on there side of the score board.

Sadly Del Mar’s game just wasn’t enough. Lincoln came out with the win with the final score to be at 48-21.
