Softball Seniors Finish Their Final Inning

Despite the cheering audience, wonderful sportsmanship, and great weather, Lincoln’s softball team lost against Prospect on their senior night game.

On Tuesday May 12, the team lost at their home conference against Prospect by a score of 3 – 1 for their senior night. During the first inning, the Lions scored 1-0. By the third inning, the Panthers scored 1-0 and in the sixth inning they scored 2-0 leaving Lincoln taking the loss of 3-1.

The stands were full making it difficult to find a seat. Many of the audience members were standing under the sun. Also, the game started late because the Empire arrived 45 minutes after he was supposed to.

After the game was over, both teams shook hands. There was also an honorary ceremony at the end. Lincoln seniors were recognized on their dedication and hard work during their softball career. Parents brought flowers to support their seniors on their senior night. Although the Lions lost, they enjoyed their senior night with great sportsmanship.
