Lincoln’s very own boys water polo team takes second place in their group and fourth overall at the Monterey Bay Shoot Out JV Tournament on the weekend of September 11th. Coached by Daniel Resz, the boys took two wins out of their four games. During the Group A Matches, Lincoln took an unfortunate loss against York High School for game one. However, Lincoln made a tremendous comeback for games two and three, taking victories against Stevenson High and Palma High. Lincoln beat Stevenson High eight to five for game two. They then went onto game three beating Palma High with a score of nine to eight. Sadly, the water polo boys couldn’t hold on to their winning streak and were defeated by Carmel High in the third place match.

Leading with 10 goals, Tristen Berenjfoorosh described the environment in the locker room after their victory as “exciting” and stated that “everybody was happy for each other even like the guys that didn’t play as much, like freshman; they were supportive.” Tristen also stated that “working harder in practice and just playing smart water polo” would help take his team from second place to first place.
