LHS Varsity Soccer Boys vs. Westmont High

Lincoln Lion Tales attended the Varsity Boys soccer game Wednesday evening at Westmont High School from 3:15 to 5:15PM. The first half of the game was — typical — steady, and the intensity of the game was building up to the second half. In the second half, Brayan Guerrero passes the ball in the goal area and the other team got the pass and made a header into our goal! Besides that goal, the game was fairly steady and often became intense with the crowd cheering on their teams. Lincoln High school won the match 3 – 1.

After the game, we interviewed Alejandro Zapien, Senior, about his soccer “occupation” and he gave us a few great responses. Lincoln Lion Tales reporter and photographer, Jocelyn Insurriaga, asked Zapien the following questions: “How many years have you played,” “Why did you start playing,” “Do you think you will continue playing after high school,” and “How do you feel about your team?” Zapien responded with the following: “I have played for eight to nine years, since I was a kid,” “My uncle was a goalie and I’m from Mexico,” “Yes, I will continue playing at De Anza,” and “They’re the best group. Playing as a team, we can go a long way.”
