Lincoln Soccer Varsity Boys 2016-2017

Soccer has begun! The boys started preseason with a tie on Nov. 28 against Gunderson, with a final score of 1-1. So far hey have played 8 out of 12 games and have won about half of them.
Our varsity soccer boys won the CCS championship for the first time last season on Tuesday March 8th, 2016. They worked hard for their victory, practicing Monday-Saturday. They are hoping to win again this year.
Last season the team carried 21 people and this year they have 24, 10 of which are returning players. They have adjusted very well to the newer, more competitive environment this year, and the game scores show it.
On Monday, December 12, they played James Lick High School, taking the win with a final score of 6-0. Guillermo Hernandez #10 started off the game with a goal. Then, Ramon Felix #9 scored a hat trick; scoring 3 goals in a row. Following that, Michael Robles #7 scored another and Brian Ocampo finished the game by scoring one last goal for the Lions.
Ramon Felix #9, one of the captains said, ” I think we do have the possibility to win CCS again this year, we have a lot of good new players and also we are better prepared.”
There is still one more game left of preseason which is on Thursday, December 29th at Mt.Pleasant @5:30 pm on the turf.
Make sure to come out and support our varsity boys when the season starts on Tuesday, January 3rd at Prospect High School @3:15pm on the turf!
