Phillip Seymour Hoffman Dies from Drug Overdose

Oscar-winning actor, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, was found dead in New York on February 2nd.

When officers arrived to Hoffman’s Manhattan apartment, they discovered his body surrounded by syringes and a large quantity of heroin. The actor admitted to have had a drug problem when he was younger, but went to rehab to receive help. Eventually, the drugs got the best of him and history repeated itself.

Although Hoffman struggled with a drug addiction, he was an extremely successful man.

He attended NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, but that was only the beginning for Hoffman. His memorable roles in the film industry, like in The Hunger Games and Moneyball, brought him Academy Awards for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, three Tony Awards, and the Oscar for Best Actor.

Regardless, all those awards to his name could not save him from a tragic death. His three children lost their father that Sunday morning but the world also suffered a loss. The world relinquished a talented director, actor, producer, and overall man. Hoffman’s legacy will continue to live on.
