The Sharks took a disappointing loss to Carolina on Tuesday, March 4 when the Hurricanes player Jay Harrison scored with only 41.2 seconds remaining in overtime snapping Carolina’s 5 game losing streak.

Jiri Tlusty, a Carolina Hurricanes player, scored to take the lead over the Sharks in the 1st period scoring between Alex Stalock’s pads. Following Tlusty’s goal, 58 seconds later, Martin Havlat of the Sharks intercepted the puck from Carolina’s goalie and scored to tie  1 to 1.

Following that play, rookie Eric Stabal from the Hurricanes scored a goal for his team changing the score to 2-1. The Shark’s took advantage of the Hurricane’s after James Sheppard shot a backhand pass to Raffi Torres who tied up the game with 28 seconds left in the 2nd period.

Both teams had many opportunities to score early in overtime, but a backhand pass to Harrison knocked in the winning puck for the Hurricanes 4th straight victory in the  series between the two teams.

Be sure to tune into the Shark’s next game against the Montreal Canadiens on Sat. March 8, at 7 pm.

Good luck Sharks!!!!!!!!!!
