The Thanksgiving Big Bone Rally took place on Wednesday, November 23rd on the Don Bowden football field. Students of all grades came out to the football field to support the football team for the upcoming Big Bone game against San Jose High which will take place during Thanksgiving morning at Independence High School.

At first came the performances, the theme this year was “Journeys through Stories.” Students from each grade level performed a 5 minute skit along with props that they have spent weeks preparing for. The Freshmen chose “The Jungle Book,” the Sophomores performed “Percy Jackson,” the Juniors performed “Where The Wild Things Are,” Seniors performed “The Wizard Of Oz,” and the teachers performed “Star Wars.” Seniors took first place,  Sophomores took second place, Juniors took third place, and Freshman got last place. Right after, the cheerleaders and Lincoln’s dance team, The Convertibles, performed.

Then, Senior Varsity football players had the chance to honor a faculty member who has impacted them and was supportive throughout their high school life. This was done by giving the faculty member honored their jersey and telling the entire student body why their selected faculty member deserved recognition. Teachers expressed gratitude for being honored. Mr. Madden said he had “feelings of sadness and happiness at the same time, and that “they’re on their way to a bigger and brighter future, and so ultimately it turns out to be a sappy feeling.” Mr. Davison said “getting a jersey means a lot to me because its vindication as a newer teacher that I’m doing a good job.” Overall, the teachers felt honored by the students because they have seen their students grow up to be young adults and this is a symbol of appreciation to them.”
